The Interview
After graduation, planning for a Professional course like M.B.A was quite easy. Even the competitive exams being tricky in nature, haven’t managed to make me nervous, But, as the time for Interview came closer…..even the slightest thought of the reality gave me Goosebumps. But, ‘Time never waits for anyone, Especially in my case’, so at-last the Big Day came for me..!!
IMT Ghaziabad:: 8.30 Sharp:: Feeling Sleepy: “That was quite a condition for me”, and all over that, as I reached the venue….. 'there came a Big Blow',,, '99% of the Applicants were dressed in Formals, I was the other 1%'. “Don’t Worry..!!” I told myself…“Look at the Bright side, U doesn’t belong to common category..!!”, which helped me lower my B.P for some time. Then we were instructed for the registration process, which didn't really mattered to me as I was already prepared for it.
After the verification process ended, Next,, we were told to prepare our self for Case-Analysis, where we were given a topic and asked certain questions relating it, which has to be completed in 20min….Or we were Screwed..!! After this, we prepared for the Personal Interview…before which we were offered Coffee & Tea to fuel our-self for the Big Encounter…."I must say, Campus facilities were really helpful and weren't really irritating..!!".
Waiting for something that you really desire makes u not just nervous but also helps u manage few trips to washroom (4 trips in my case), & also when a Beautiful Girl sits beside you and start talking & exchanges contact, only makes you ask yourself questions like “Why me on this very Day..!!”, “Really, She could have met me some other day, another place, different time”, “Interview is really something I need to focus right now…Harshit!”, "Ignore her!!"…..I told myself, which actually didn't help in any way.
After some time when I actually started taking an interest & got comfortable with her,,, “Bang-Bang”…..my name was called, and it was my turn for the Interview. Took a deep breath, Knocked the door, Asked to come inside, Got seated,…..& guess the first question I faced…. "What’s the meaning of the sign on your T-Shirt, Mr.Arora ?" …. It was a SHOCK, yet I managed to answer them by saying “Sir, I know that 99% of applicants are in Formals, & I am not….BUT, with due respect, I take this situation as an Opportunity to present myself different from the others..!!”…'They Smiled' in an approving way... ‘I guess’ & the Thrashing continues……
Next, they asked “You mentioned Badminton as in Hobby here, please mention some Badminton players and Why you find them as a Role-Model?”....."Yes Ma’am, I mentioned Badminton as a Hobby, bcoz it helped me managed my weight as an exercise for over a long time,, At the same time, Mr. Padukone, Saina Nehwal,, are some of the finest Badminton stars of our country, and since they made this country proud, it inspires me to do same in future..!!”,…..Story continues with next incoming Missile---+ "U are also a Professional Blogger? U are involved in your Family Business? & U are a Coder as-well..!!, Still, U are giving an interview for an M.B.A professional course, WHY??"….I replied "Yes Sir, I’m a Blogger because I find it as a Tension releasing exercise where I can express myself & generate some profits at the same time ,,,Yes, I am involved in my Family Business since higher secondary, which actually inspired me to apply for a professional course like M.B.A ,,,, Yes, I am a Coder as well ,,, because I feel that CODING in this century, is not just a computer’s language but slowly becoming a general language which every one of us should learn to evolve ourselves.”
One after another, many questions were put at me, some I answered & few I even ducked….but none without Confidence..!! At last, they asked me “If, at the end of the course we declare not to provide 100% placements, What will u do?”….I took a moment….then replied.. " Ma'am, Since the damage has already been done…there's no running from it now, But I will take it as an opportunity to Place myself somewhere even better, my way..!!"…..they smiled….& I took it as a message that it’s Over. I thanked them for their time & left with a HOPE to return for longer stay this time..!!
